CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Guardians have acquired outfielder Lane Thomas from the Washington Nationals, the team announced Monday.

In return, the Guardians sent infielder José Tena, left-handed pitcher Alex Clemmey and infielder Rafael Ramírez Jr. to Washington.

Thomas, 28, was a fifth-round selection of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2014 MLB draft. He has spent the past four seasons with the Washington Nationals and has batted .253 with eight home runs and 40 RBI over 77 games in 2024.
