Daniel Grimes joined Spectrum News as a multimedia journalist in Washington D.C. in February 2024.

He previously spent nearly three years in Roanoke, Virginia as a morning anchor. In Roanoke, Daniel hosted a podcast called Political Pulse and interviewed Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, and numerous state and local elected officials.

Daniel began his journalism journey in Charlottesville, Virginia- first as a reporter and then as a reporter and weekend morning anchor. He received his master’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia (go ‘hoos!).

Prior to becoming a journalist, Daniel spent six years working in education in New York City.

When he’s not reporting, you can probably find him enjoying cheese, chocolate or listening to a podcast. You can follow Daniel on X (formerly Twitter) @dnlgrimes and Facebook @DanielGrimes.
