OHIO — The severe weather that swept across the Buckeye State Sunday night hit some communities in southwest Ohio especially hard.
From homes moved right off their foundations, to downed tree limbs, downed power lines and windows blown out, residents at the Linda Mobile Home Park in Butler County said they have a lot of clean-up to do.
Ronda Willey said her roof was blown off into a tree across the street.
Willey and her fiancee William Berrier, who lives across the street, weren’t expecting their neighborhood to have so much damage.
“The tree fell down over there. It was a mess,” said Berrier.
“I had my grandson in there and he was home when it hit and he’s only a couple months old,” said Willey.
Ohio Emergency Management agency teams, St. Clair Township Fire Department, and the mobile home community managers are working together to help people get the support they need.
No injuries have been reported, but several of the homes weren’t safe to go back to right away.
“The American Red Cross has been working with those affected to identify temporary housing solutions and we are working with the mobile home community to get folks back into their homes as quickly as possible,” said Butler County Emergency Management Agency Director Jim Bolen.
For Berrier and Willey, there’s a lot of work ahead.
“I’ve also got power lines behind my trailer and on top of my trailer. It’s gonna be fun,” said Willey.
It won’t be easy, but there’s one thing that matters most.
“I’m just thankful that everybody is ok,” she said.
