OHIO — A winter weather advisory is in effect for Saturday afternoon and evening in northern Ohio, where snow and ice are expected to impact travel.
Snow showers will bring 1-2 inches of accumulation to Toledo and Cleveland by Saturday night, with light icing from freezing rain also expected. Ice accumulations will range from 0.10 to 0.20 inches across the northern third of the state.
The most difficult travel conditions are likely to occur in the late afternoon and evening, especially as areas in north-central Ohio experience more widespread freezing rain.
Saturday afternoon, weather conditions will shift to mostly rain for areas south of I-70.
Travel will be most impacted during the late afternoon and evening hours, as snow and ice make roads slippery, particularly in northern Ohio.
Drivers should expect delays and plan for extra travel time, as slick spots and reduced visibility from snow showers could create hazardous driving conditions.
Conditions will calm down by Sunday, with only isolated snow showers expected in the primary snowbelt.
The rest of the state should see mostly quiet weather, providing a break from the winter weather that affected much of the region over the weekend.
