CLEVELAND — Hundreds of people lined up along the procession route in Cleveland Monday morning to honor fallen officer Jamieson Ritter, 27, who died in the line of duty in the early hours of July 4.
Ritter, who served with the Cleveland Division of Police for four years, died after responding to a call to the 1500 block of East 80th Street. He was shot after a suspect, who attempted to leave on a bicycle, took out a gun and started shooting.
Ritter's procession began at 9 a.m., which departed from the Chambers Funeral Home and ended at the Cathedral of St. John, which is where his memorial service took place.
