Their event, Total Eclipse of the Point, will allow vistiors to feel the thrill on selected rides at The Boardwalk and savor specialty food and drinks at the Grand Pavilion Restaurant & Bar.

The upcoming total solar eclipse is rare to Ohioans. According to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, "the last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806. The next total solar eclipse in Ohio will be in the year 2099."

According to NASA, it is important to prepare for the event and they advise that you "do not look at the Sun through a camera lens, telescope, binoculars or any other optical device while wearing eclipse glasses or using a handheld solar viewer — the concentrated solar rays will burn through the filter and cause serious eye injury."

According to Cedar Point's website, "you won't want to miss this rare and spectacular cosmic celebration with breathtaking views of the eclipse from the sandy shores of the beach or the elevated viewing decks at Grand Pavilion."

More information will be updated on Cedar Point's event page as it becomes available.
