SANDUSKY, Ohio — Get ready for "blood-curling" haunted attractions, specialty food and drinks and fun family-friendly activities — HalloWeekends returns to Cedar Point this Thursday.

For the kids, many popular daytime activities will return, including trick-or-treating, The Magical House on Boo Hill, pumpkin decorating, corn and hay bale mazes, mini tractor rides and the costume contest.

But at night, things turn a bit more sinister. Guests who are brave enough will meet Mr. Midnight — HalloWeekends’ new and official “Master of Scarymoanies” — as he orchestrates and commences the haunted activities on the HalloWeekends Main Stage.

Guests can also take a walk through outdoor fright zones, including Blood on the Bayou and Banished and Harvest Fear. They can also attempt to find their way through frightening indoor haunted mazes like Slaughter House, Hexed and Fearground Freak Show.

In honor of the park's 25th anniversary, there will be even more attractions for families to enjoy this year.

Thursday Night Frights

These interactive shows debut every Thursday night, and will include activities like “Scare-a-oke” at the Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill Stage. On the Cedar Point Ballroom balcony, the Witch Sisters will interact with passers-by during “Witch Sisters’ Insult-emporium: Witch, Please!,” and the new pop-up sensation “Slash Mob” will appear at various locations inside the park.

Bloodbath

This is another indoor haunted maze for guests to test their fear threshold. It's located in the towering structure of the Steel Vengeance roller coaster. Guests will move through the darkness, music and lights and avoid the vampire-like creatures emerging.

The Haunting of Eerie Estate

Guests will take part in a paranormal investigation at the Eerie Estate, trying to find the truth behind the rumors of ghostly tenants roaming the halls.

The Midnight Hour: 25 Years of HalloWeekends with Midnight Syndicate

Since 1997, the park’s midways and haunted mazes have been filled with the mystifying and macabre musical stylings of Northeast Ohio’s Midnight Syndicate — a duo of musicians whose curated creepy melodies can be heard in haunted attraction settings around the world. Guests will embark on a musical tour of the sights and sounds of the ongoing collaborations between Cedar Point and Midnight Syndicate.

Drinks & Dining to Die For

Select food locations in the park will feature “Flavors of HalloWeekends,” with specialty items like spicy maple sausage-on-a-stick, beer cheese waffle fries, hand-crafted pumpkin rolls, loaded burnt-ends nachos, spicy corn chorizo pizza and more.

Guests can get an early start on HalloWeekends and purchase discounted tickets until Thursday only. Tickets are valid for a one-day visit to Cedar Point on Thursday nights, Fridays or Sundays, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022.
