CLEVELAND — Several major Ohio landmarks displayed support for Ukraine Friday night as the country defends itself from a Russian invasion.
A week after celebrating the NBA All-Star Game Weekend, Cleveland’s 52-story Terminal Tower was illuminated in blue and yellow Friday night. It was not the only major Cleveland landmark to display solidarity with Ukraine. Cleveland City Hall has been seen displaying a Ukrainian flag on the front of the building.
According to U.S. Census data, Cuyahoga County is home to more than 15,000 residents of Ukrainian descent.
On the other end of the state, the Duke Energy Convention Center’s Cincinnati display was illuminated in blue and yellow.
Both the mayors of Cleveland and Cincinnati offered assistance this week to Ukrainians seeking safe haven.
