CINCINNATI — Bengals fans who flew across the country to watch the team play in California are coming back to Ohio with pride despite the loss.
What You Need To Know
- Dozens of Bengals fans followed the team from Cincinnati to Los Angeles to see the team play
- After the Bengals’ loss, fans said it was very emotional, but still worth the trip
- Fans came back through the CVG Airport still wearing Bengals gear
For Bengals fans, the flight from Ohio was at least eight hours roundtrip to see the Cincinnati team in Los Angeles.
Fans said despite that long flight, and witnessing the loss in person, it was worth the trip.
As soon as they got off their flight, Bengals fans were still completely covered in everything orange and black.
Margy Thole said that’s not going to change for her. She said she's had the same Bengals sweatshirt for 15 years and season tickets even longer.
She said she was a Bengals fan before her son, Andrew Thole, was born.
They went to California to see the game together, and while they said it was very emotional, they would do it all over again.
“It was a once in a lifetime thing, so I don’t regret anything,” said Andrew. “Winning would’ve been the cherry on top of a cool trip so, yeah, it’s one of those where we’re pretty much going to be there a few more times so who knows we may be making a few more trip.”
They would not mind if the next Super Bowl trip was closer, though.
"But hopefully not all the way to LA again,” said Mary. “That was a long trip.”
There was also still a lot of pride at the airport. Some fans just off flights from other places were still in orange and black too.
They said they still have hope for future wins.
