MENTOR, Ohio — A winter storm is nothing new to northeast Ohio.

What You Need To Know

  • Mentor Family Foods co-owner Patrick Joseph Conway said he and staff are prepared

  • Conway said being an independent grocery store, makes it’s easier to keep more inventory on hand

“You try to prepare for as best as you can, but you do what you’re able to do and stock what you’re able to stock and take care of the things you need to take care,” said co-owner of Mentor Family Foods Patrick Joseph Conway.

While shelves are continuously being restocked, Conway said it’s hard to ignore bare areas.

“Stew meats, chicken breast, salads in the produce department, potatoes, onions, more or less sale items and staples,” he said.

He said that since the grocery store is independent, it makes it easier to keep more inventory on hand so they’re prepared for events like storms.

“We’ll be put a day or two behind, but as long as we’re here today and take care of the things we need to take care of, we’ll be fine,” he said.

Conway said keeping up with the demand is a team effort and staff are working around the clock to ensure items are replaced as soon as possible.
