AKRON, Ohio — The City of Akron has extended the hours of four community centers from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. The centers  will serve as warming centers for residents in need through Jan. 29.

“I think this is a great opportunity, this is a nice thing for the people of the community to take advantage of this. If they choose to, we’re always here," says Jeff Incorvia, a supervisor for the Akron Community Learning Centers.

There are COVID-19 precautions in place, including mask-wearing and social distancing, according to the city's website. Snacks will be provided. Also, books and table games are available.
