CLEVELAND — Paul J. Dolan, chairman of the Cleveland Guardians, has been selected to chair the Board of Directors of the Greater Cleveland Partnership when it holds its annual meeting in March. 

Dolan will take the reins as the Board of Directors adds 14 new members, including Browns owner Dee Haslam. 

“We are delighted that Paul will serve as the next chair of the GCP Board at this exciting moment for our region,” said Eric Schnur, current Board chair, in a press release Monday. “The epitome of a team player, Paul’s leadership, character, and commitment to our community will serve both the organization and Greater Cleveland well. I know he will be an outstanding Chair of our board.”

Dolan, whose family owns the Guardians, recently came to a 15-year agreement with the city and county to keep the club in Cleveland. In exchange, the city and county will provide $17 million annually over the next 15 years to help remodel Progressive Field. 

Dolan was also appointed last year to Cleveland State University’s Board of Trustees. 

The Greater Cleveland Partnership claims to be the largest metropolitan chamber of commerce in the nation with more than 12,000 members. The GCP includes some of the state’s largest employers, including the Cleveland Clinic and Sherwin-Williams.
