CLEVELAND — A northeast Ohio fraternity is spreading holiday joy through its continuing commitment to helping those in need.
The Zeta Omega chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., hosted its annual Christmas basket giveaway on Saturday. The fraternity was able to provide more than 500 baskets, with each packed with enough food for a family of six.
As a result, the fraternity's efforts will help feed approximately 3,000 residents in Greater Cleveland.
"We have been doing the Zeta Omega Christmas baskets for more than 25 years in the Cleveland communities, and our job is to make sure that people who are at risk or low income are able to get baskets," said Kendric Jackson, the local chapter's basileus (president).
Dave's Supermarket Midtown supplied the food at a discounted rate to the fraternity in support of the giveaway.
The event was hosted at Ginn Academy.
