LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Disney’s Hollywood Studios will get a new character meet-and-greet with Ariel in celebration of the live-action version of “The Little Mermaid.”
The character encounter will begin this summer and take place inside the Walt Disney Presents attraction, which will also feature film props and a sneak peek of the film.
Disneyland in California and Disneyland Paris will also get the Ariel meet-and-greet.
Disney announced the new character encounter Thursday along with a video featuring Halle Bailey, who plays the character.
The upcoming film is a live-action retelling of Disney’s 1989 animated film of the same name. In addition to Bailey, the new film stars Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, John Hauer-King as Prince Eric and Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder.
“The Little Mermaid” arrives in theaters on May 26.
