A city nonprofit is looking for more dogs and their owners to take part in its therapy dog program in city public schools.

A Fair Shake for Youth just launched a volunteer recruitment campaign to help meet the demand for programming that builds young people’s social and emotional skills.

The initiative gives New Yorkers and their dogs a unique opportunity to volunteer together to help middle school students in underserved communities in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan.

The group's founder, Audrey Hendler, joined NY1 anchor Rocco Vertuccio on "Weekends on 1" Saturday to discuss the new program.
