The weather over the nation takes a breather with the winter storm pushing away from the East Coast. Another storm is posed to develop in the deep south by late week with more wintry precipitation.

 

 

High Temperatures Today

Arctic air will continue to spill southward through the Upper-Midwest and into the eastern half of the nation through the week.

 

Low Temperatures Tonight

Bitterly cold air will drop temperatures near zero in the Northern Plains with single digits into the Midwest.. The cold air will plunge all the way into the deep south as well. Mild, Pacific air will be in place across the West Coast.

 

Precipitation Outlook

The major winter storm that brought a swalth of heavy snow to the Midwest east into portions of the Mid-Atlantic is long gone. Some mountain snow is likely in the Colorado Rockies. Also, lake-effect snow will continue as the Arctic air continues to push over the Great Lakes.
