CINCINNATI — Cincinnati ranked No. 4 in the final Associated Press college football poll of the season, while Ohio State finished No. 6.

The Bearcats finished with its best final ranking behind No. 1 Georgia after the Bulldogs won its second national championships by beating Alabama on Monday.

Alabama finished ranked No. 2, giving the Southeastern Conference the top two teams in the final rankings for the third time since 2011.

Michigan was No. 3, the Wolverines’ best final ranking since winning the national championship in 1997 and their first top-10 finish since 2006.

Baylor finished ranked No. 5 ahead of No. 6 Ohio State.

Ohio State's loss to Michigan in November knocked them out of the national title picture but the Buckeyes (11-2) beat Utah 48-45 in the Rose Bowl.

Cincinnati (13-1) lost to Alabama in the CFP semifinal Cotton Bowl.

The breakthrough Bearcats' offense stalled against the overpowering Crimson Tide's running game in a 27-6 loss.

The Bearcats were the first team from outside the Power Five conferences to reach the College Football Playoff.
