TEXAS — The U.S. House voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to save Speaker Mike Johnson from a push to oust him.
Georgia Congresswoman and GOP hardliner Marjorie Taylor Greene called for a vote to remove Johnson from leadership. But lawmakers on both sides of the aisle quickly rejected it.
On this week’s “Inside Out” segment, former Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen, R-Angleton, and former state Rep. Mark Strama, D-Austin, weighed in on the rare showing of bipartisan support in the U.S. House and how it reflects how the Texas House picks its speaker.
