  • Head Coach Tom Siegfried and his son, Beau Siegfried, have led the way all season for the Leopards

  • Beau is one of eight seniors on Louisville who will play their final game on Friday

“Would really mean a lot to this community, it would mean a lot to me after 18 years, and obviously to these eight seniors who are playing their final games at Louisville," Louisville Head Coach Tom Siegfried said.

Leading the way Siegfried in his 18th year with the program and those eight seniors. One of the eight is his son, Beau. Both agree that doing this alongside each other has made the run to the championship much more meaningful.

“It’s something that I couldn’t even think would ever happen," Tom said. "It’s surreal. My son’s obviously a part of that. It’s a very special relationship not just with coach and point guard but with father and son.”

“He’s always wanted this, he’s always worked super hard for this," Beau said. "Credit to him for always putting in the work and he deserves nothing more.”

While Beau is his only actual son on the team, Tom said he has a special relationship with all eight members of the Leopards’ senior class and wants nothing more than to send them off with a state championship. His players agree.

"I couldn’t be more proud of all of them. I do have a son on the team, but I really consider the other seven to be basically stepsons to me as well.” "They all have their own little niche, their own little part of what makes us great," Tom said. "I couldn’t be more proud of all of them. I do have a son on the team, but I really consider the other seven to be basically stepsons to me as well.”

“It would mean everything, that’s obviously been the goal this year and all four years," Senior Brayden Gross said.

"There’s nothing else in my life I want more," Beau said. "Getting to play in the state championship on Friday is a blessing. Having the chance to play in it with my best buds, it’s a dream come true.”

Lousville will face Cincinnati Aiken in the OHSAA Division III State Championship on Friday at 1 p.m. You can watch the game on Spectrum News 1.
