NEW ALBANY, Ohio — As shots rang out at a New Albany warehouse Tuesday night, 911 callers described the chaotic moments in as the deadly mass shooting unfolded.

One person was killed and five were injured in the shooting at the KDC/One facility on Smith’s Mill Road in New Albany Tuesday night. The suspect, Bruce Reginald Foster III has been charged with aggravated murder, according to court documents.

The 911 calls started at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

One came from a security officer at the facility who said the shooter was in the back of the facility where production took place.

"Everybody is running out the door right now," the caller told dispatchers. "Three people got shot."

"Tell everybody to get outside," one employee can be heard yelling in the background. The security guard then told dispatchers that they were removing everyone from the facility.

"I heard the shots in production, like three or four," another caller said. 

Employees called 911 from across the facility with some sheltering in place and others running from the scene. 

"I need an ambulance here now, I've got two gunshot victims and possibly a third," one caller said. 

"We're running out now," another caller said.

Dispatchers continued to reassure callers that help was coming.

"I wanted to let you know that there's people out back behind the building that got shot too that I wasn't aware of earlier," one caller said when he called dispatch back.

With each call dispatchers attempted to confirm the number of shooters and a possible description of the suspect.

"We've got the whole county coming to you," a dispatcher said to one caller providing first aid to a victim.

Foster was taken into custody around 10 a.m. on Wednesday after authorities executed a search warrant at a Columbus address.

New Albany Police confirmed that this is the first homicide in New Albany history since the municipality was incorporated in 1837.
