COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State's men's soccer team earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Championships.

The team was ranked No. 1 for the final three weeks of the 2024 season and will host a second-round game on Sunday, Nov. 24, in Columbus.

Western Michigan and SIUE face-off on Thursday. The winner of that game will then face the Buckeyes at 5 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. OSU defeated SIUE during the annual Wolstein Classic earlier this season, 4-0.

The Buckeyes received a bye in the opening round.

This is the program's 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament after earning a share of the Big Ten Regular-Season Championship and the Big Ten's automatic bid after defeating Michigan 1-0 on Sunday in the 2024 Big Ten Tournament Final.

The Big Ten Tournament Final set a stadium and program record with 8,938 attendees, the fourth-largest crowd nationally to watch a men's soccer game and the largest crowd attending a Big Ten home match in league history.

OSU last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2022.
