CINCINNATI — FC Cincinnati acquired 19-year-old Kevin Kelsy from the Ukrainian Premier League team Shakhtar Donetsk, according to a press release from the team.

Kelsy is on loan—with the option to buy—to Cincinnati and will be with them for the 2024 season.

“We’re thrilled to have Kevin join the group,” FC Cincinnati General Manager Chris Albright said in the release. “He’s a talented young player with incredible potential, and we look forward to working with him. He’s a physically gifted forward with a strong mentality who will fit in well with our team, and we’d like to welcome him to FC Cincinnati.”

The Venezuelan forward first played with the Mineros de Guayana in the Venezuelan Primera División when he was only 16 and was acquired by Shakhtar Donetsk in January last year.

“I’m happy to join FC Cincinnati,” Kelsy said in the release. “It's an exciting project at the club, and I look forward to my first game. I can’t wait to meet the fans and play my first game at TQL Stadium.”

Kelsey will be with Cincinnati as they play Orlando City SC at 7:30 p.m. on May 4.
