School officials and volunteers at Indian Lake High School are putting together care packages for families affected by the storm. They’re donating and packaging all kinds of essentials.
"We're a close knit community," said volunteer Alicia Cummins. "And it's just what we do."
Helping the community is especially close to her heart.
"I worked in mental health for 14 years,” she said. "And did a lot of work with crisis management. And so, it's just a natural role for me to kind of help and in that way and work with families that need help in a time of need."
If there’s one thing this community can count on, it’s each other.
"We, just as a community and as a school and district, we just really appreciate the outpouring of love and support that we've received and just very grateful for all of the help we have,” Cummins said.
Volunteers said the best way to help people affected by the storm is to donate to the United Way of Logan County.
