COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center is hosting a drive-thru Healthy Community Day to share health resources.

The event is set up like a drive-thru at OSU's Outpatient Care East, 543 Taylor Ave. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.

“The flu shot is a safe and effective method of protection against the flu,” said Irene Mynatt, an emergency medicine physician. “September is an ideal time to get a flu shot before flu activity increases.”

The event does not require registration and visitors will receive a free flu shot, produce, swag bag and information on Ohio State primary care doctors, free clinics and telehealth. Narcan will also be available upon request.

“Ohio State offers Healthy Community Day twice a year as part of our commitment to improving health in central Ohio," said Amanda Lucas, executive director of Ohio State’s Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital, East Hospital and Harding Hospital. "It’s one of several access points to care that we offer throughout the year.”
