COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Crew announced additional preseason matches before the 2023 Major League Soccer season opener Feb. 25.

The Crew will host the USL Championship side Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in a closed-door match Saturday, Feb. 4 at Historic Crew Stadium. 

The club then will take its second road trip of the preseason to train in Fort Lauderdale from Feb. 6-18. During that time, Columbus will play matches with MLS clubs, Inter Miami on Feb. 11 and Houston Dynamo on Feb. 15.

On Feb. 18, the Crew will have a match versus Hartford Athletic of the USL Championship.

The three Florida matches will be played behind closed doors.

The team started the preseason matches against NPSL side Naples City SC on Friday, Jan. 27 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

The Crew opens the 2023 MLS season with an away match against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, Feb. 25 and hosts D.C. United for the home opener at Lower.com Field on Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m.
