YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Former President Donald Trump visited the Buckeye state on Saturday night, speaking at a rally in Youngstown on his “Save America” platform.

What You Need To Know

  • Former President Donald Trump came to Youngstown to rally for U.S. House and Senate candidates in Ohio

  • Trump endorsed a number of candidates who credit his endorsement for their success in primaries

  • Trump threw his support toward U.S. Senate candidate JD Vance, a former critic who now supports him

He was there to support candidates he’s endorsed, including U.S. Senate hopeful JD Vance. Vance used Trump’s endorsement to power through the primary.

“We won Ohio twice, and now we’re way up higher," said Trump. "We won it in two landslides, and now we have to give JD a landslide."

Vance initially was critical of Trump, but now supports him.

"Yeah, he said some bad things about me but that was before he knew me and then he fell in love," Trump said.

Vance continued to praise the former president on Saturday.

“We gotta go back to the policies that this guy delivered that made this state free and prosperous," Vance said, while standing next to Trump. "Let’s do it November 8, let’s do it ladies and gentleman."

Other Trump-endorsed Congressional hopefuls were also on hand as the Republican party looks to take back the U.S. House of Representatives.

“This Ohio caucus is excited to work together as a team for Ohio and I’ve called all our candidates, I’ve met with every congressman," said Republican Congressional candidate J.R. Majewski. "Our days of being forgotten in Ohio are over. We are going to lead the way."

Current Trump supporters in Congress were in Youngstown as well, hoping to excite the party before the election.

“The left controls the White House, the left controls the House, the left controls the Senate but what the left doesn’t control is we the people," said Rep.  Jim Jordan (R-4th congressional district).

“The future is yours, Ohio," said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia). "Oh, it’s yours. Here’s what you have to do. You have a job. You have to flood the polls. Flood the polls November 8."

One of the former president's staunchest supporters, Mike Lindell, also known as the My Pillow guy, also attended the rally. He used this event to say that he’s now suing the FBI for seizing his phone earlier in the week.
