On Tuesday evening, a rally organized by Women’s March Cleveland took place downtown in front of the Cuyahoga County Administration building.
Event organizers said the goal of the demonstration is to get Cuyahoga County Council members to speak out against the Supreme Court’s decision.
“Our voices need to be heard, they have to be heard,” said Nikki Fortunato, a protester. “The Supreme Court really put it into the states hands and you know what, doing that is kind of good, because I know there is a big vote coming up, so all we can do is get out there and vote and get this overturned.”
They also called on Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish to stand up for abortion access in Ohio.
Women’s March Cleveland said it also wants to address other issues, such as the allocation of resources during what they called a time of crisis for women.
Several other demonstrations are scheduled to take place in Ohio through the rest of the week.
