OHIO — The Mid-American Conference tournament is underway in downtown Cleveland, and many businesses are excited about the added boost of customers flooding the city.

Meih Stevenson owns Mi 'Amore in Tower City. She has been open since January and is appreciative of the fact that the City of Cleveland is the host of recent national events, such as NBA All-Star weekend.

“It was amazing to meet new people but it was also amazing for business," said Stevenson."Now we have the MAC tournament which has brought new people downtown."

According to information on the MAC website, studies have shown that the MAC basketball tournament generates over $14.5 million annually in economic impact. Almost one million fans have attended MAC tournament games at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse over the past 21 years.

With pep rallies and watch parties happening at Tower City for the MAC tournaments, Stevenson hopes people will find her store and pick out something stylish for the special events that are planned.

“I had a mother come in the other day, her son has some affiliation with the tournament and she said she needed something cute to wear."
