WASHINGTON D.C. — Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off the field of the Bengals’ game at Washington with a left leg injury.

Reports said the injury is to Burrow's ACL.

During the third quarter, Burrow was unable to put any weight on his left leg as he was helped onto a cart and driven off the field after the play. Washington’s Jonathan Allen hit Burrow after he let go of a pass early in the quarter.

Soon after the injury, Burrow took to Twitter and signaled he won't return until next year, or even next season.

Burrow had completed 22 of 34 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown before the injury. The Bengals led Washington, 9-7, at the time of the injury.

While Burrow was being attended to, former fellow Buckeyes, Dwayne Haskins Jr., Chase Young, and Terry McLaurin, who all play for Washington, came over to wish Burrow well as a crowd of players from both teams showed support for him.

The Bengals ruled Burrow out immediately after the incident but the specifics on the injury were not immediately revealed. Burrow did take to his personal Twitter account to give his own update on his condition.

Burrow, the Athens, Ohio native who played at Ohio State University before winning a National Championship and Heisman Trophy at LSU, was drafted first overall by the Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Multiple reactions came from around the country.
