My favorite part about Halloween is that I can spend time with my friends and family, and I can get candy,” said a little yogi, Ellie.

Multiple 5- to 7-year-old yogis prepared for an evening full of candy, costumes, and fun.

“Mostly everything,” said little yogi, Aria, when asked what her favorite part of Halloween was, and when asked if she liked candy and trick-or-treating, “Of course, how could I not.” she added.

Although the pandemic has changed the way people celebrate the holidays this year, these kids are not letting it bring their spirits down. With some fun kids yoga, hosted by Hope Yoga Studio in Cleveland, these kids may relax from the stress of the pandemic and get loosened up for trick-or-treating.

Yoga instructor Dianne Williams said the studio has recently brought back children’s yoga, because not only is it fun for the kids, it benefits them in ways most don’t realize.

“As adults, we always tell kids, calm down, relax, and calm down without really showing them what that means and so with yoga it shows them. It gives them that space to understand what that means,” said Williams.

And the kids already are on board.

“I love yoga, and my mom got me a very fluffy mat,” said little yogi, Ellie.

She said it made her feel happy and calm; a bit of calm before all the candy.

“Just the calm before the storm I like to call it,” Williams said. “Get our sillies out now, let’s have fun, let’s do something new and then go have fun trick-or-treating.”

The yoga session ended with the kids repeating after Williams.

“Namaste means the good in me sees the good in you,” she said.

Beginning Nov. 5, Hope Yoga will host children's yoga every Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
