OHIO— May is Mental Health Awareness Month and with so many people being affected in some way by this pandemic, a new app aims to help people cope.

    What You Need To Know

    • COVID Coach helps people deal with the anxiety and stress of the pandemic

    • Offers interactive coping tools and positive activities you can do with your family

    • You can set goals and find a list of resources

It's called COVID Coach and it's a way to help people deal with the anxiety and stress of this coronavirus pandemic.

There are four different sections on the app that offer everything from interactive coping tools, like guided breathing exercises, to positive activities you can do with your family.

You can also set goals, big or small, and find a long list of resources for whatever could help you manage.

"It's not going to solve every problem, but we are hoping that it can offer a lot of people even just a few minutes of calm," explains  Beth Jaworski, health/science specialist at National Center for PTSD.  "Things like maybe trying a new recipe. One of the activities is being able to watch the animals at the Monterey Bay Aquarium."

COVID Coach is not meant to be a cure-all and replace a professional.

The app is free on Google Play and the App Store.
