COLUMBUS, Ohio — During the last two months, Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton has become one of the most recognizable figures all across Ohio.

And while she is now a fan favorite of many, she also has her detractors.

Protesters rallied outside her house near Columbus on Saturday, demanding she lift the new Stay Safe Ohio order that went into effect on Friday.

One sign spotted there claimed that hair stylists are essential.

A day later, the healthcare community showed its support for her during a rally at the Statehouse.

Those workers thanked her for flattening the curve by encouraging Ohioans to wear masks and be socially distant.
