CLEVELAND, Ohio — A stay-at-home order and sloppy weather in Northeast Ohio have been a combination of bad news, but being trapped inside can make you a little stir crazy.

  • People are turning to fresh air and sunshine as a way to cope
  • Edgewater Beach Park in Cleveland saw a large crowd Sunday
  • The state encourages people to exercise and do activities that improve your mood to manage stress, as long as you still follow social distancing guidelines

As the waves crash down on Edgewater Beach just outside of downtown Cleveland, people take in the view as pets take in some new smells.

"We get a little bored sitting around. I do construction for a living, so I’m still out working anyways, but even the dog was getting bored," said Kevin Furia.

Furia drove 30 minutes from Medina to take Bailie, his dog for a walk, since the dog parks down by him were so muddy from recent rain.

"It’s been raining so much we can’t even get her outside to do anything, so it’s been a little boring,” Furia said.

Edgewater Park is packed with people trying to do the same — get out of the house.

"The sun is shining, it’s a little cold, but it’s worth it just getting out and getting some fresh air for a change," said Joe Robison.

The Robison family just needed a break from their house.

"We’re getting to know each other well to just stay inside! So far, it honestly hasn’t been bad. We’re doing fine," said Marge Robison.

As people and dogs hope for days like this, an uncertain future is holding a cloud over this sunny day.
