ANN ARBOR, Michigan– There’s a moment in every season, where the entire fanbase holds their breath.

For Ohio State, that moment came against Michigan when star quarterback Justin Fields went down in the third quarter with a knee injury.

After eventually making his way off to be evaluated, Fields returned, sporting a knee brace, and showing a whole hell of a lot of toughness.

On his first play back. An absolute knockout blow.

Hitting fab freshman Garrett Wilson in the back corner of the end zone. Ryan Day in awe of how great that play was.

“I thought it was a magical moment; I thought it was a Heisman moment.” Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day said. “For him to go down, take that injury, he puts the brace on, comes back out and makes a throw that we didn’t design that way. There were some plays that we designed that went down just like we thought they would. That was not one of them. For him to ad-lib, make a play, and then make that throw, going to his left? That’s as good as a throw as I’ve seen in a long time.”

You couldn’t script it any better, and Day said it showed just how tough he is.

“We said this from the beginning, the tougher team was going to win,” Day said. “It’s all about toughness. And as a quarterback, sometimes, tough? What does that mean? Typically that’s for the O-line, you know tough and being physical. You talk about tough? Wow. I’ve never been around a tougher quarterback than this guy.”

The Buckeyes would go on to beat Michigan 56-27, but Justin Fields ‘Heisman Moment’ will forever live on in Ohio State-Michigan rivalry history.

“It’s just from coach Day,” OSU quarterback Justin Fields said. “He was happy how tough I played this game, and just how I came back. I give all the credit to God. I mean, without him, I’d be nothing.”

Humble as ever, even after perhaps the biggest play of his young career.
