The Washington monument will transform into a Saturn 5 rocket bound for the moon later this month.

The Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum has unveiled plans for a “once-in-a-lifetime” light show on the National Mall commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission.
From July 16th through July 18th an image of the 363-foot rocket will be projected onto the side of the Washington Monument.

The event will be free to attend, with viewing areas available on the national mall.
