LAKE ERIE, Ohio — Lake turnover is a natural process that typically occurs in the Spring and Fall when there are rapid changes in weather.
Cold water is more dense than warm water. The process involves the water near the surface sinking to the bottom of the lake and the water on the bottom rising to the top.
The process plays an important role in keeping our aquatic life healthy and it helps prevent harmful algae blooms. Spectrum News 1 Anchor Sophia Constantine spoke with Natalie Foos, Land and Water Resources Administrator with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, to learn more.
