WORCESTER, Mass. — The Shrewsbury American Legion Post 397 baseball team won the state Senior championship last week, and is off to the regionals in Manchester, N.H.

The team went 5-0 in the state playoffs and enter regionals, which begin Wednesday, on a roll.

"We're pumped to be going to regionals," said Shrewsbury pitcher Zaid Moghrabi. "It's an honor to be representing the state; we won five straight, so we deserve it and I'm excited to see what we can do up there."

"I think it's cool to continue the successful traditions of this program," said Shrewsbury pitcher Brady Shea, "and to win another achievement like this is good for everyone on the team and the next year of keeping the prestige of the program."

Post 397 plays the host team from New Hampshire on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Hudson also qualified for the Senior regional tournament from Massachusetts. It's a double elimination format, with the tournament winner going to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, N.C., from Aug. 15-20.
