Brookfield, MASS--A private investigator is now more than two months into working on uncovering what happened to Brittany Tee on January 10, 2023.
“This being relatively new, there are still people who should be talked to and need to be talked to,” Private Investigations for the Missing case manager, Lou Barry, said. “We are uncovering new names all the time. So two years is not a long time on a case like this.”
Friday marks two years since the 35-year old vanished from Brookfield. The case is still under investigation by the Worcester County district attorney’s office, as Brittany’s family waits for answers.
“The least we offer is the knowledge that the case in being investigated,” Barry said. “I feel very bad for her family and friends because the unknown is the worst thing and we deal with this all the time.”
Private Investigations for the Missing has assigned a retired Boston police officer with more than 20 years of experience to Brittany’s case. The non-profit is handling more than 30 cases nationwide, but Brittany’s is their only one in Massachusetts.
“He’s made a number of trips up there. He’s interviewed people whose name has been mentioned, not as persons of interest but people who may have some information or may be familiar with Brittany and her past,” Barry said.
Barry is in charge of screening incoming tips. He said they have learned new information, and they’ve shared it with state police.
“We have come up with some new information that we’ve passed along and that they have latched on to and followed up with,” Barry said. “I don’t know that we’ve necessarily found anything that is going to solve the case, but it demonstrates to them that we are out there and we are sharing information.”
Barry said state police have conducted a thorough investigation and he’s hopeful, with their help, they’ll make progress in Brittany’s case and bring closure to her loved ones.
“You never know, sometimes you get a lucky break, sometimes you don’t,” Barry said. “It’s just a matter of investigating and hoping you’re on the right track.”
