WORCESTER, Mass. - The winningest coach in Massachusetts high school football history added another milestone Friday night as Northbridge rolled to a 39-0 Division 7 playoff win over Oxford. The victory marked head coach Ken LaChapelle's 400th win in a career spanning 49 years as the Rams' leader.

The coach's grandson, quarterback Joel LaChapelle, helped lead the way rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for two more with seniors Caden Mastroianni and David Scichilone on the receiving end of those scoring passes. Matt Coughlin and Tanner Haden added touchdown runs for the Rams who will host Millbury next week.

Coach LaChapelle called the win special citing he's been able to coach his children and grandchildren and many of his coaches have also played for him during his 49 seasons at Northbridge. "It must mean we've done something right here, and I'm pretty proud of that, LaChapelle said."

In Division 5, the Auburn Rockets got another standout performance from Brayden Belanger en route to a 32-7 win over a hard nosed Blackstone Valley Tech team. The Beavers started the scoring when Alex Burgos connected with Bryce Sheldon on a touchdown pass in the first quarter. Belanger and the Auburn offensive line went to work on the Rockets' first possession which ended with the sophomore's 46-yard touchdown run. He'd add two more in the first half and finished with four scores on the night. Auburn travels to Hanover next week.

The undefeated Uxbridge Spartans welcomed back another star in Thatcher Sweeney who caught three touchdown passes from quarterback Rogan Devlin in a 48-8 Division 7 win over St. Paul. Cam LaChapelle rushed for three scores for Uxbridge who will host Gardner next week.
