WORCESTER, Mass. -– The Holy Cross football team has been running the ball very effectively the last two games – really all season long – but especially over the last two games.

They rushed for 194 yards as a team against Fordham and last week, rushed for 246 yards against Harvard.

Former Shrewsbury High School star Brad Blattner is one of the Crusader's offensive lineman clearing the way for the running backs to have success.  Blattner learned a lot from his high school offensive line coach Joe Pittorino, who played center at Acton-Boxboro and Northeastern University.

"Oh my, he's an old-school coach, really just pound the ball, physical. He was awesome," said Blattner, "I mean, he really stressed being tough, being a member of the offensive line. You have to set the tone for the whole game. So he taught me a tremendous amount of how to be a good offensive lineman mentally. He played Division 1 football, so he's got some experience, so he was a really good leader for us and really good teacher for us in high school."

Holy Cross is at Lafayette on Saturday, Oct. 26.
