PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The Berkshire Humane Society is trying to make room to help shelter animals impacted by Hurricanes Milton and Helene.
The Berkshire Humane Society says that last week the shelter was at full capacity and now they have had 27 animals adopted since last Tuesday and a couple more are on hold.
All adoption fees for pets six months or older are half off through Sunday to hopefully make enough room to be able to take in some additional animals.
“We’re talking 30, 40, 50, 60, 100 different shelters reaching out and if everybody does a little hopefully it lessens what they’re going through and I can’t imagine working in a shelter down there right it’s got to be pretty hard and anything we can do to help them out is what we will do,” said Executive Director John Perreault.
Anyone interested in adopting a pet can check on Berkshire Humane Society’s website for more information.
