HOLDEN, Mass. — A local car dealership in business for more than a century is closing next month.

Sunnyside Ford in Holden celebrated their 100th anniversary in March.

It opened as a garage, servicing Model T's in 1923 and became a dealership in 1924.

President Dan Harrington said vehicles have changed a lot and it was difficult to decision to close the family business which spanned three generations.

"It's definitely been more complicated in the last 10 years or so, but I’m 74, so it's time to retire,” said Harrington. “I remember the times, you know, you get in the car, you turn the key and boom, you forget your left gear and nothing jumps forward. Well, now they won't do that on you. A lot of safety features that are great, some are a pain, I know a lot of people don't like them, but they're for the benefit of everybody."

Sunnyside's last day is Nov. 22.
