WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross football team begins the second season on Saturday at Colgate.

It's their first Patriot League game of the season, and winning the league title is their ticket to the NCAA tournament.

Facing the Raiders, Holy Cross knows they have to stop a run heavy attack.

"I'd say from a defensive side first is obviously stopping the run," said LB Matthew Kane. "They've got a two QB package where they do a lot of QB run stuff, like we saw a lot here with Matt Sluka last year for us. And then obviously being fundamentally sound doing our jobs and getting everyone's one-11th, and do as much as you can and then do a little bit more."

"I mean the keys to beating Colgate on defense for us it's going to start with stopping the run," said DL Damon Donalds. "They have a good running QB and then they have another QB they bring in to throw and spread out the offense. But making sure we can get their offensive line behind the line of scrimmage and stopping the run is going to be first and foremost to us winning the game."

Holy Cross is at Colgate Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.
