WORCESTER, Mass. - The city of Worcester hosted a health clinic Friday to serve its veteran community.
The event featured services like free flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, blood pressure exams and massages.
People also had the opportunity to donate blood.
The city's Veteran’s Services Division said it wants to let veterans know about the services the city has to offer.
"We're trying to do a better job in marketing our service and letting veterans know, stop by our office, ask questions, give us a call, shoot us an email or look on the city's website at the veterans page and there's a host of veteran’s services that are available to veterans” said Joe Robinson, the director of veteran’s services. “Everything from housing needs to clothing, food. If it's something that we cannot do in our office, we have a great collaboration between 60 or more veteran organizations throughout the city of Worcester and surrounding that go to bat for our veterans."
This is the first year veterans services has held the clinic and they're hoping to host similar events in the future.
