WORCESTER, Mass. - Grafton's rushing attack established itself on the Gators first possession which was capped by a Griffin Landry touchdown en route to a 40-0 victory over Worcester South (1-1). Grafton (3-0) controlled both sides of the ball against a younger but talented Colonels squad. Owen Belanger's 55-yard touchdown run at the end of the first quarter was just one of the highlights from a Grafton offense with a variety of stars.
Leominster (3-0) held off Doherty (1-1) posting a 27-19 win at Doyle Field. Blue Devils quarterback Osiris Lopez rushed for the game-clinching score late in the fourth quarter. Doherty freshman Andre Perkins rumbled 41-yards for the score to cut the Leominster lead to two, but the Highlanders were unable to convert the two-point conversion.
Northbridge (2-0) scored the first 17 points Friday night against St. Bernard's (0-2) in the Rams 30-8 win in Fitchburg. Quarterback Joel LaChapelle threw for a touchdown pass and then caught one from David Scichilone on what Kevin Shea dubbed the "Northbridge Special".
