WORCESTER, Mass. — It wasn't that long ago that having South High on your football schedule meant you had a pretty good chance for a win.

Then Bob LaRose came in and rebuilt the Colonels into a Central Mass. power. Now they are a big game for everyone they play — just the way they like it.

"What we set out to do here was play bigger teams on bigger stages," said head coach Bob LaRose. "Now we're kind of on people's radar and that's what we set out to do four to five years ago when we started here."

"Every year we have a target on our back," said captain Ransord Adri. "I tell all the younger guys that haven't been here, 'we have a target on our back so that's a going to make us work harder.'"

"We love the competition, we step up to all the hard competition," said captain James Christie, "And we're brothers out here and we know we all have each other's back. So if people mess up, we know another guy will be there to pick him up. We don't fear any competition. We take everyone head on."

South is at Grafton Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.
