WORCESTER, Mass. — A Worcester thrift shop is recovering after it was burglarized early Tuesday morning.

Abby's House Thrift Shop said thankfully nothing of significant value was taken and everyone is safe, but it's been an unnerving experience.

They said they were able to identify a suspect with police through surveillance video.

Abby's House Thrift Shop said they remain committed to the safety and security of the community.

"We are so grateful to say, no, we have never had an incident like this before and we're hopeful that we won't have one again,” said thrift shop manager Molly Pietrantonio. “I have to give all the props to our in-house maintenance team, Justin and Jamie. They were able to do quick repairs on some of the damage that was caused by this incident, as well as putting some additional security measures to help ease our hearts and minds, to keep us comfortable and safe here."

The shop was closed Wednesday but will reopen Thursday.

Anyone is welcome to shop at the store.

They offer a community voucher program for people in need.
