WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team plays its home opener at Fitton Field on Saturday against UNH.
The Crusaders and Wildcats renew a great New England college football rivalry, and Holy Cross is pumped to play in front of their home fans for the first time this season.
"Yeah, obviously fired up to be back home in front of our home fans," said Holy Cross head coach Dan Curran. "I don't think you could ask for a better opponent, one of, if not the, best teams in New England over the last 20 years as far as consistency and just winning culture. It's a great opportunity for both teams to put on a show in front of their fans.'
"Yeah there's nothing else like it, playing in front of our fans, in front of our home crowd," said wide receiver Byron Shipman. "It's a great feeling and a blessing that we have this opportunity on Saturday and we look forward to it."
Holy Cross is 0-1 on the season and UNH is 0-1, too.
