WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team has finished up pre-season camp and are officially in game week, as they prepare for URI and their opener on Saturday night in Rhode Island.
During the camp, the Crusaders were battling with each other trying to win starting jobs or spots on the two deep. So to finally get a chance to hit someone in a different color jersey is something they are looking forward to.
"I mean this is what we've been working for all offseason," said captain Frankie Monte. "We had a really tough offseason, and to be in game week it feels like Christmas. So we're really excited."
"Oh, you know, it's great going against each other for all of camp," said captain Curtis Harris-Lopez. "But to be able to put the pads on and get ready for another team, like Rhode Island, it's very exciting."
"Now we're finally here right," said captain Joe Pesansky. "It's time to go play some football. I can't even express how excited I am for this team and the guys on this team, this school and this college."
Holy Cross is at URI on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.
