WORCESTER, Mass. — Major League scouts from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions ran a clinic at Polar Park on Thursday for kids from Worcester and Boston ages 12-18, helping to grow the game in underserved areas. The scouts ran kids through drills and gave them individual coaching.

"This day have been really fun," said 15-year-old Diego Salazar. "I've got to meet a lot of cool people, really nice people ,and getting training from the scouts is really special. It shows how people are really interested and it shows me I can be better."

"This is an integral part of trying to bring in young people to the game to be tomorrow's fans, players, front office members," said Paul Murphy, Mid-Atlantic area scouting supervisor with the Los Angeles Dodgers. "It's a great thing that we can reach communities that maybe if we weren't here wouldn't be able to participate in baseball."
